HEC extends Online Degree Equivalence System to all centres

After successful running of online degree verification and attestation, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched online degree equivalence system (DES) for granting equivalence or recognition to foreign degree holders.
An official of HEC told APP that the commission has introduced this initiative to facilitate the foreign degree holders.
The provision of this facility especially at all HEC regional centres would enable the faculty, students, researchers and general public to get their degree or certificates equivalency at their door steps within short span of time, the official informed.
The Accreditation and Attestation (A&A) Division in collaboration with Information Technology Division HEC organized a two-day training workshop on the newly launched online degree equivalence system (DES) at the HEC Headquarter.
This training workshop was attended by HEC staff from all four regional centres including Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
Director General (A&A) HEC Islamabad Fida Hussain and Director General (IT) HEC Anwar Amjad also interacted with the participants.
The training was conducted by Syed Asim Hussain and Nazia Shamim. The participants were briefed about the objectives of the online DES, systems and procedures of granting equivalence to foreign qualifications.
They were informed about checking and evaluation mechanism of any foreign degree awarding institution by using the websites of UNESCO and CHEA. The participants were also trained about filling of online application form and collection of required documents through practical work.
41 motorcycles impounded: City Traffic Police (CTP) have impounded 41 motorcycles in various city police stations while 146 challans have also been issued to motorcyclists on severe traffic rules violations, negligent and dangerous driving.
City Traffic Officer, (CTO) Superintendent Police (SP) Syed Ishtiaq Shah told APP that strict action is being taken against the one-wheelers and a special drive has also been launched in Rawalpindi city to impound altered motorcycles of one-wheelers.
He said that strict orders have been issued to all the traffic wardens, Inspectors, Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) of all sectors that no one should be spared and all the youngsters particularly those found moving on the city roads on altered motorcycles especially prepared for one wheeling should be impounded.
The CTO said that fines amounting to Rs 43,800 were imposed onrash and negligent driving by motorcyclists during the current month. Ishtiaq Shah further said that a special squad comprising one inspector and six wardens has also been constituted to take action against one-wheelers. The squad will also conduct raids at various city roads at night and the violators of the law would be sent behind the bars.
The CTP has launched special drive against wheelie and made several arrangements to curb the activity aimed at protecting the youngsters as one wheeling is a cause of deaths and severe injuries for the riders said City Traffic Officer (CTO).
He said those found involved in the activity will be sent behind the bars under section 99/A.
He said traffic police officers were directed to keep a vigilant eye on the one-wheelers so that action in accordance with the law could be taken against them.
Under special arrangements, traffic officials are being deployed at various points. The traffic officers and circle heads have been directed to take stern action against the one-wheelers without discrimination.
He said one-wheelers are not only playing with their own lives but also a threat for other road users. He urged the citizens particularly parents that they should come forward and play their role to curb the activity as one wheeling, rash and negligent driving are the main causes for fatal accidents.

  2. There should be a guide, or maybe even videos, on how to use the online system to
    turn in your work. This is also an advantage because you can complete more courses in a semester
    than at a traditional college. The classes at Benedictine University for adult learning are designed for adults who have not yet completed
    their bachelor.

  3. where is the bloody online system as i can't find anything like this. i was told to go A and A section Islamabad for getting equivalence, if the online system exists why it is not functional. bloody HEC and bloody country
