Punjab Labour Minister Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi has said the government is promoting public health facilities and has started several programmes to achieve health targets.
While talking to delegations of doctors and paramedics of social security hospitals and labourers Tuesday, Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi said that specific objectives of mother and child health programmes were to reduce the under-five mortality rate.
He said lady health workers have rendered tremendous services to promote health and create awareness by visiting communities from door to door to brief them on preventable diseases.
