The youth of nation should utilise their skills and knowledge for national interests.
This was stated by renowned scientist and Muhsin-e-Pakistan Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan while addressing a seminar on “role of youth to defend the motherland” held here on Tuesday at International Islamic University.
IIUI Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dr Ghulam Yasin Chouhan, Students’ Advisor Dr Safeer Awan and a large number of students attended the seminar. Dr Safeer Awan and a student Tayyab Aziz also spoke at the seminar.
Dr AQ Khan said the motherland has ample resources which need to be explored and flourished with facilities and opportunities. He urges the students to become ambassador of their own culture and civilization. Dr Khan was of the view that only youth could save the deteriorated status of our society through education and rational decisions as they possess more than 48 per cent registered voters. Upon the power crisis in the country, Dr Khan added that they should reserve the rainwater to utilise it for producing power, expanding fisheries and cultivating land to emphasize on our own production. He further added that students should take part in politics but they should not get indulged in unproductive activities. They should respect the views of each other and in case of any difference in opinion they should not be violent, he advised.
While talking on the role of youth, he said the society should provide youth an ample access to education to confine their thinking only towards knowledge and research. Khan further said that Pakistan has multiple resources which demands from the youth to come forward and honestly lead the nation to bring prosperity in the country.
