The management of University of Sindh has decided to setup a FM Radio at the Department of Mass Communication to promote educational and academic programmes and train its graduates studying at the department.
In this connection, a meeting was convened by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Parveen Shah on Monday which was attended among others by Chairperson Department of Mass Communication Dr Rizwana Chang, Dr Mahmoodul Hassan Mughal, Manager FM 105 Ishrat Hussain and Mushtaq Bhatti.
According to university spokesman, the meeting discussed the way and means for the setting up of FM Radio station and also decided that University would approach the National Public Radio (NPR) and USAID Education programme for necessary help.
The meeting also discussed to get financial support from the Provincial and Federal Government and also to made request to the philanthropists. The spokesman pointed out that approximately Rs 5 million expenses are estimated for setting up of FM Radio Station.
