TMA demolishes 5 illegal commercial buildings

The Town Municipal Administration (TMA) Rawal Town on Monday demolished illegal constructions of five commercial buildings and sealed a house.
According to a TMA spokesman, the operation against illegal constructions in Rawal Town had been accelerated on the instructions of Administrator Rawal Town and strict action was being taken against the violators of the law.
Inspector Tariq Yousaf and Sufi Fayyaz along with the enforcement department staff demolished illegal constructions in Satellite Town and Saidpur Road, and six sheds on Fifth Road and in commercial market, and sealed a house illegally being used for commercial activities.
Several raids were conducted on Monday and demolished buildings constructed illegally by the special squad formed in this regard, he informed.
He said after solid steps taken in this regard, the revenue generation has also been increased considerably as now the citizens are submitting their building plans to get formal approval.
It is pertinent to mention here that a special demolition squad for removing illegal structures from the city areas was recently formed by the TMA.
The six-member squad, led by Municipal Building Inspector Abdul Qayyum Khan, is being supervised by Malik Saleem Naz.
Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Chauhdry Liaquat Ali said that the increasing number of constructions without getting prior approval from TMA has compelled the administration to take solid steps in this regard.
He said the TMA officials have also been warned to improve their performance otherwise stern action would be taken against those violating the rules. He said officials with bad reputation would not be tolerated.
