Noticing the harsh and hostile attitude of Afghan policemen and personnel of other law enforcement and secret agencies towards Pakistani labourers in Afghanistan, Afghan nationals have called upon the countrymen to respect the Pakistani labourers who were making valuable contribution in reconstruction process of Afghanistan. Reports from Afghanistan reveal that scores of Afghan nationals staged a protest rally in Kabul where they instead of criticizing the government made a request to their countrymen to review hostile and negative attitude towards Pakistanis. The protesters said over 100,000 Pakistani nationals were scattered throughout Afghanistan in connection with reconstruction and development plans. But unfortunately, Afghan employers are engaged in maltreatment of these Pakistani nationals. The protesters said some of the Afghan owners, employers and contractors were not only reluctant to pay reasonable wages to these Pakistani labourers, but even got them booked or charged in false cases. A large number of innocent Pakistanis are held in Afghan prisons. In reaction, Pakistani policemen welcome Afghans upon their arrival at Peshawar and other cities with a harsh and hostile attitude. On such grounds, Afghans from different walks of life assembled in Kabul and rallied in a bid to convince the countrymen of changing minds towards Pakistanis. They requested the authorities, personnel of police and other law enforcing agencies, employers, contractors and others to respect people from both countries.
