Renowned scholar, Dr Shabihul Hassan, who was injured after unknown gunmen opened fire at him, succumbed to his wounds in a hospital late Friday night. According to the police, Dr Hassan was attacked by unidentified motorcyclists while he was on his way home on Friday, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to the Services Hospital for treatment where he breathed his last that same night.
Hundreds of people, including family members, relatives and people belonging to different walks of life attended the funeral of Dr Hassan as he was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard. The police have registered a case against unknown murderers and started investigating the incident.
