Ganda Singh border should be opened for Indo-Pak trade: Nawaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Friday said the Ganda Singh Border with India at Kasur should be opened for trading with the neighbouring country.
Nawaz was addressing a press conference after offering condolence over the demise of father of MNA Sheikh Waseem Akhter in Kasur.
Nawaz said the way the rulers were restoring NATO supply was highly degrading for the nation.
“The president and PM Gilani are wandering with a begging bowl in their hand; no one offers apology to beggars,” the PML-N chief said.
He said the rulers were ignorant of the real issues being faced by the people of Pakistan, as they had their own priorities and were hankering after their own vested interests. He made it clear that the hints of opening so-called cases against the Sharif family were a vindictive act on part of the federal government and a failed effort to check the row of the agitation against the Centre.
To a question, Nawaz said the restoration of relations between India and Pakistan was in the interest of the both countries. He said it had been a waste to attend APC meetings, as not a single decision made in such moots had been implemented.
He said the PML-N favoured the creation of new provinces and “restoration of Bhawalpur province was the first demanded made by Nawaz Sharif”.
He vowed to play an effective role during the budget session and to not allow the treasury benches to bulldoze the constitution of Pakistan.
About the Siachin issue, Nawaz said the causalities of army personnel and civilians was an accident, not a conspiracy, and appreciated the efforts taken by the army.
