KU to strengthen security arrangements

The University of Karachi will acquire CCTV cameras, walk through gates and other equipment in order to strengthen its security arrangements. This was stated by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser. He also spoke of the fiscal difficulties faced by the University and said that the institution is facing a deficit of Rs. 848 million for fiscal 2011-12. Prof. Qaiser said that in view of this the university is pursuing industry-academia collaboration and that an agreement would soon be signed with the Karachi Chamber of commerce and Industry (KCCI). He further stated that steps are also being taken for making the process of announcement of results in a transparent manner. The results that were pending for quite some time are being announced. The Vice-Chancellor said that ads for the existing vacancies would also be placed.
