Karachi violence claims 7 lives

Firing incidents claimed seven lives, including former councilor during last 24 hours in various part of Karachi.
Police said 45-year-old Anwar Alam alias Babu was shot dead by four unidentified armed motorcyclists near Tariq Road, Ferozabad ASP Malik Murtaza said that it was target killing incident. MQM spokesman said the deceased was active worker of the party and a former councilor.
After incident, shops and other businesses were closed in various parts of the city while people faced heavy traffic jam around Faisal Avenue, Tariq Road, Bahadarabad and Tepu Sultan Road.
Police said 32-year-old Muhammad Zubair was killed near Liaqat Market area of Malir while police found two dead bodies, shot in the head, in an empty plot near seaside area of Ibrahim Haidri. Police has not identified the deceased persons.
A resident of Buffer zone was found dead in the area of Suchal while police found two dead bodies in the areas of Ganna Mandi Super Highway and Malir City.
Armed men opened fire on a Jeep near National Stadium; as a result Dawood Engineering College Registrar Ghulam Shabir and his son were injured.
