10% advance security condition for new projects withdrawn: The local government secretary on Monday accepted the summery sent to him by the Rawal Town administrator to withdraw the condition under which all the contractors were directed to deposit 10 percent advance security of the total cost of the new construction work to get a new project.
According to details, the condition has been withdrawn and the rules have been amended as a summery in this regard was sent to the local government secretary for cancellation of the condition. It is pertinent to mention here that the local government secretary had amended the old rules in March 2012 and all the contractors were directed to deposit 10 percent of the total cost of the project as advance security. Like other contractors of the division, the contractors of Rawal Town boycotted the tender process for new construction work and said that they would not get any contract with this condition.
Rawal Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa informed the local government secretary about the situation and sent a letter with a request that the condition should be withdrawn so that the contractors could be facilitated.
