Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had a telephonic conversation regarding the overall situation of Sindh, especially Karachi. Malik claimed that there were no longer targeted killings in the province’s capital after the arrest of several murderers. He directed Shah to ensure protection of the lives of the people of Lyari, where at least 25 people, including policemen, were recently killed and 69 others injured in the week-long operation launched by law enforcers.
