PM’s disqualification plea hearing adjourned until 30th

The Lahore High Court (LHC) adjourned the hearing of a petition till May 30, pertaining to the disqualification of Yousaf Raza Gilani as PM after the verdict of the apex court.
During the hearing of the case, the petitioner’s lawyer stated that after the release of the complete verdict, it was clear that the Supreme Court had convicted PM Gilani and that he should be barred from working.
The court adjourned the hearing till May 30th and directed the petitioner’s lawyer AK Dogar to complete his arguments at the next hearing.
LHC orders IGP to take action against delinquent officials: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Haji Habib-ur-Rehman, to take action against the delinquent police officers who allegedly released some accused, arrested for their involvement in a fraud case.
Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan passed the order on a petition, filed by petitioner-counsel Sikandar Hayat Khan Sial, seeking action against the responsible police officials for this professional negligence.
To a court query, the IGP submitted that DSP Shoaib Ahmad and the case investigation officer had been suspended and that due action was also taken against them.
The petitioner-counsel informed the court that another accused, Muhammad Zafar, was also arrested by the police but was released by SP Investigation Muhammad Usman.
The court sought explanation from SP Muhammad Usman, also present in the court, who failed to present a satisfactory reply.
The court ordered the IGP to take strict action against the delinquent police officials including the SP and submit a report in this regard by May 14.
