There is an urgent need for undertaking necessary legislation for the resolution of the problems being confronted by the youngsters in the Pakistani society, said Sindh Youth Affairs Minister Faisal Subzwari.
He was talking to a delegation of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) at his office on Friday.
The UNFPA delegation was led by R. Royan while Sindh Youth Affairs Secretary Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and Director Khurshid Ali Shaikh were also present on the occasion.
Subzwari directed the Sindh Youth Affairs Department to immediately devise a policy for resolving the problems of the youngsters.
He was of the view that for chalking out the policy, an action plan be prepared and steps be taken for empowering the youths.
In the first phase, the minister suggested provincial youth councils be formed in which all stakeholders should be included. “The UNFPA can play an important role in this direction and that it be also included in the policy forming team,” he said.
The UNFPA representatives said that the organization is willing to assist the provincial department in the formation of provincial youth policy.
