The issue of the regularisation of 700 senior registrars and district specialists across Punjab has been hit by yet another roadblock as Regulations Secretary Muhammad Ilyas once again refused to have a final meeting on Thursday.
The meeting was to be held to give final directions for the issuance of the regularisation orders which will affect 700 doctors.
The plans for the meeting were being made for the past couple of days and it was scheduled to be held on Thursday, with the consent of the regulation department.
However, at the eleventh hour the regulation secretary refused to have the meeting.
The Postgraduate Medical Officers Association’s meeting was also held on Thursday at the PMA house and was attended by the doctors who have appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister to personally direct the secretary to resolve the issue and to pass orders for the regularisation of the doctors.
