Noor Alam richest, Jamshed Dasti poorest among legislators

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday released the details of assets declared by MNAs and Punjab’s MPAs.
According to the list, Noor Alam Khan of the PPP is the richest member of parliament, owning assets worth Rs 32 billion, while Jamshed Dasti, who also belongs to the PPP, is the poorest parliamentarian with an empty bank account.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has declared assets of Rs 25 million, but does not own a car. Gilani’s son Abdul Qadir Gilani has assets worth Rs 56.3 million, including a bulletproof vehicle.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman has declared assets of Rs 5 million, Pervaiz Elahi of Rs 127 million, Arbab Alamgir of Rs 1.68 billion, while Faryal Talpur is the owner of assets of Rs 115.30 million.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has Rs 16.60 million in cash along with property comprising of 904 kanals of land, six plots and a farmhouse.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has declared assets of more than Rs 210 million, while the combined assets of him and his two wives are worth Rs 482.2 million.
According to the documents, Moonis Elahi has declared assets worth Rs 307.6 million. He also has no car.
PPP’s Arbab Alamgir Khan and his spouse Asma Arbab top the list of indebted MNAs, with their collective liabilities standing at Rs 3.38 billion.
The net worth of assets of ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan is a little over Rs 30 million. He has mentioned the value of his inherited residential house at Rs 3 million and the worth of 67 acres of agricultural land at Rs 26.8 million.
The value of assets owned by Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao – the chief of his own faction of PPP – is Rs 218 million.
