Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) have decided to register another FIR against Dr Shakil Afridi over his alleged sexual harassment of women. Dr Afridi had already been dismissed in high treason case for arranging fake vaccination campaign to get DNA sample to trace Osama bin Laden. Earlier, the provincial government had dismissed Afridi on the charges of high treason under the Pakistan Penal Code and under reference 223. According to sources, Dr Shakil Afridi has been accused of sexually harassing women. Three “sexually harassed” LHVs made the allegation in their written statement to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief secretary and Chief Minister’s Secretariat. However, at that time no one took action against Afridi, and the LHVs now demanded the government to move against the accused. The provincial government, in order to undertake the investigation in this regard, has asked for previous enquiry reports from the Health Department on this matter.
