AC forms body to reconcile CDA funds

A high-level meeting chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Pirzada has decided to constitute a joint committee of accounts officers of the ICT Administration and Capital Development Authority to reconcile the existing funds transferred to the accounts of CDA by the ICTA for expeditious completion of the on-going development projects of ICT administration, which are being executed by the Capital Development Authority.
Tariq Mahmood Pirzada said the purpose of this co-ordination meeting was to review the progress of ICT development projects undertaken by the CDA and to ensure the immediate release of amount to the contractors by the CDA so that the pace of work on these projects could be expedited and their completion could be ensured without further unnecessary delay. He asked the Capital Development Authority to give priority to the projects of important nature. The ICT Administration also released the funds for these projects a long time ago.
The meeting was attended by the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, Binamin, Member, Finance, CDA, Javed Jhanghir, Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad, Amer Ali Ahmed, Director, Development/ Finance, ICT, Rana Akbar Hayat, DIG,Police, headquarters, Project Director, CDA, Ayaz Khan and other senior officials.
The meeting was informed that ICT Administration has transferred Rs 136 million in the head of CDA for expeditious completion of Hazrat Bari Imam Shrine Complex without further delay but it has been observed that the progress on this important project has been very slow and work is almost stalled due to not timely releasing the amount to the contractor by the Capital Development Authority.
Member, Finance, CDA, Javed Jhanghir, informed that the participants that he has taken over his new assignment five months back and assured the meeting that he would take up the matter with the Chairman, Capital Development Authority and Member, Engineering, CDA tomorrow and would take immediate steps to resolve the matter immediately. He informed that he would also issue directions to the Finance Branch of CDA to undo the unnecessary procedural delay in the release of amount to the contractors out of funds of ICTA and would ensure expeditious payment of amounts to the contractors, completing ICTA projects without further delay.
CDA, Project Director, Ayaz Khan, also assured the participants that he would immediately complete the construction of gate at the Police Line Headquarters, Islamabad and would also complete the remaining security related development projects on priority basis without further delay. The on-going ICTA projects being executed by CDA include, construction of IG Police Block at G-11/4, construction of wireless complex and residential accommodation for telecommunication staff in Sector, H-11, security measures for the police stations phase-I and phase-II, construction of 05 police barraks, construction of Amin Block Quarter guard 03 barracks magazines and horse stable in diplomatic enclave, Islamabad.
