Islamabad Drug Inspector Sardar Shabir on Wednesday raided the premises of Multus Pharma at Al-Jannat Arcade, G-11 Markaz, and recovered a large number of unregistered drugs from there.
The drug inspector told Pakistan Today that he had sealed the premises of the said the medicine company under Drug Act 1976 for keeping unregistered drugs and empty cartons. All the illegal stock has been seized and a case against the offender is being referred to the Islamabad Capital Territory Quality Control Board for further legal action. The accused firm was also found packing drugs in contravention of Drug Act 1976.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director Food Muhammad Afzal, in a surprise raid near Paracha Chowk, Tarlai area, sealed a factory allegedly involved in preparing substandard bakery items injurious for human health.
According to the AD, food items and other material being used there have also been seized and sample of the food items are being sent to the laboratory for quality test.
