PPP shows its love for the labourers

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) took out a massive rally from Lahore Railway Station to Lahore Press Club (LPC) to show solidarity with the labour community on the World Labour Day.
The state minister for Interior and PPP Central Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich led the rally, while Federal Minister and PPP Lahore President Samina Khalid Ghurki, PPP Punjab General Secretary Haji Azizur Rehman Chan, Prime Minister’s Advisor Aslam Gil, other party leaders and workers took party in the rally.
The participants chanted full-throat slogan appreciating the revolutionary measures taken by the President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani for the well-being of the labour community. They were also holding huge portraits of PPP founding leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Zardari and Gilani.
Addressing the rally outside the LPC, Warraich said PPP was the party of farmers, labourers and the poor and it had always raised voice for the rights of the down-trodden and deprived segments of the society. He said Zardari was representing the people of Pakistan well and was striving hard to put the country back on track to development and prosperity.
Warraich said PPP-led democratic government had not only the ensured provision of the rights of the poor people but had also enabled them to play their effective role in development of Pakistan in a dignified manner.
The PPP leader said PPP, upon coming into power, had always provided jobs to million of the jobless people, and it had also the credit of reinstating the government employees who were subjected to political vengeance in 1996, beside regularising the services of the contract and daily-wage employees so that they could earn their livelihood with peace of mind.
Warraich said PPP was the symbol of federation and enjoyed the active support of the masses, whether it was election in Gilgit-Baltistan or in Gujranwala.
