The Employees Old-Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) is determined to secure the rights of workers and provide them an excellent environment, EOBI Chairman Zafar lqbal Gondal said in his message for World Labour Day. He said EOBI is striving for social security of every labourer according to the Article 38(c) of the Constitution of Pakistan. To achieve this objective, EOBI is catering to the private sector and providing Old-Age Benefits, Death Grants and Life Long Pension to senior citizens, disabled people, widows and pensioners through EOBI Scheme. Recently the EOBI introduced a latest mobile phone banking service, Easypaisa, for the payment of pension to the pensioners. Due to this system, pensioners will get their pension easily and conveniently. “At this occasion I am pleased to announce that the people’s government has increased the pension by 20% from 1st January, 2012 which was a long awaited demand of the labour community,” he said.
