Aitzaz gets Rs 100 cheque for defending Gilani

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani sent a letter to his lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan along with a cheque of Rs 100 as his fee for representing him in the court of law in the contempt case. “At the end of the day, it is the people of Pakistan who judge the performance of their government and this right of the people, expressed through their elected representatives in parliament, cannot be taken away – should not be allowed to be taken away – from them,” the letter stated.The prime minister said that “in representing me, in fact Senator Aitzaz Ahsan was upholding and defending the principle of supremacy of the constitution which is no small matter, especially in the face of adverse propaganda by some political entities, and relentless bias by a section of the media”.

    for it. For a change his qualifications are not suspect. He has had famous clients whom he has ? successfully defended. One is a chief justice, the second one is the PM . The third
    —the president is indirectly being defended. His fees is peanuts. All this for democracy?

  11. Aitzaz is a man of integrity. It is not right to criticise him just because he is doing what he considers right and is defending a person somebody may not like. Let us not pass objectionable remarks against the same Aitzaz whom his present critics were almost on the verge of worshipping him for his role in the Lawyer's Movement.

      His wife is holding Pakistan women's Cricket Association's Chairperson, the allotment of LPG quota to his wife's name (taking Rs 3M per month for doing nothing practically) and he has got a senate seat & above all some promises for next premiership…….. what else an opportunist of his calibre can expect?????

  18. Mr. Aitzaz no one disputes your right to choose your clients but this choice is more than just exercising your right of choice. you have chosen sides and priorities and not only client. You have chosen unabashedly corrupt people to defend.

He did all at chief justice case for his reputation nothing else, nobody likes independent judiciary… he is also amongst the warlords and they have criminal mind want only justice in case of middle class category but dont llike against their fellow warlords….
