Sharif brothers are ‘kings of liars’: Malik

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Sunday continued launching tirade against Sharif brothers and challenged them to file a defamation suit against him if they had the courage.
Talking to media persons here at his residence, Rehman Malik alleged he had evidence that the Sharif brothers had embezzled public funds worth $32 million. The minister said he will present the evidence before the Supreme Court within a week, adding that if Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif have the “courage” they can challenge his claims. “If they (Sharif brothers) are not guilty, they should prove me wrong.”
Branding the Sharifs as the “kings of liars”, Rehman Malik said if the PML-N threatens him, he will respond with “ten threats.” He asked the Sharifs to refrain from issuing threats and levelling allegations, otherwise he would bring such an evidence against them which will disqualify them.
He advised the PML-N to appoint Ishaq Dar as its advisor in place of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to improve the state of affairs. “The nation has a right to know the truth, it could not be hoodwinked,” Malik said.
He said that the PPP’s reconciliation policy should not be taken as a weakness‚ but it is being exercised for the consolidation of democracy and in the best national interest.
The minister said when he would submit the facts to the courts against Sharif brothers‚ then he would also make them public. He asked the Sharif brothers if they have any answers about his facts‚ they should come and tell the public.
Rehman Malik said that during the time of former President Pervez Musharraf‚ they were seeking relaxation from a dictator‚ about which he has the proof to show.
He said the people want to know about the embezzled money of Sharif brothers and building of their empires in Raiwind and other places in and outside the country.
Rehman said that PPP is a national party and would not be pressurized by calling for Long March or other threats. “The PPP Jiyalas from throughout the country are seeking permission for a march towards Raiwind,” Rehman Malik said, adding that if the PML-N launched a Long March then the PPP Jiyals are not wearing the bangles.
He claimed that London High Court had declared Shahbaz Sharif a ‘defaulter’. He further added that Sharif brothers held meetings with officials of secret agencies during their exile period.
About PPP’s relations with Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf, that is also seeking Gilani’s resignation, Rehman Malik said “we have no conflict with PTI.”
On this occasion the interior minister issued a press note stating that the reaction and counter allegations by Senator Pervez Rashid to the news conference of Rehman Malik was confused. It said the interior minister would keep on exposing the corruption of Sharif brothers. It said that the interior minister has already instructed to send documents to NAB for further legal action. He asked Pervez Rashid to wait and see the outcome of the reference sent to NAB.
The press note also asked PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to first himself clear from the Supreme Court charges of becoming part of the looted money by HBL and Younas Habib. It said the minister would definitely approach the Supreme Court with new evidence.
