A man and his wife were killed by a speeding truck near Qadaffi Stadium on Wednesday.
Police said Mohammad Ahmad Butt, his wife Sana Bibi and their six months old baby were on their way on a bike when a recklessly driven truck ran over them, as a result of which all the three received injuries. They were rushed to a local hospital where Ahmad and his wife Sana Bibi succumbed to their injuries. The condition of the minor boy was stated to be out of danger.
Police handed over the bodies of the deceased to their heirs and started searching for accused truck driver who managed to escape from the scene.
BODY FOUND: Lytton Road police recovered the body of a 50-year-old man from Chuburji Chowk on Wednesday.
Police claimed that the deceased, yet to be identified, was an addict who died of natural causes.
FIRE: Goods worth million of rupees were gutted into ashes when fire broke out in a trading company in Upper Mall on Wednesday.
The cause of fire was said to be a short circuit in UPS.
ROOF COLLAPSE: A 40-year-old woman received injuries when a dilapidated roof of her Shahdara house caved in on Wednesday.
The injured woman was identified as Nazeeran Bibi. She was admitted to a local hospital where her condition was said to be out of danger.
