Law and order situation in Gilgit and other districts has started returning to normalcy but scarcity of food commodities, fuel and other daily use items besides closure of mobile phone services still persists.
Students along with government and private employees have started attending the educational institutions, and offices as relaxation in curfew has been given from 6am to 7pm.
However, a ban remain imposed on certain activities like gathering of two or more persons, wearing chaddar in Gilgit city during curfew relaxation hours. Moreover, the citizens continued to suffer owing to an acute shortage of food items, fuel and suspension of mobile phone service.
The two central mosques in Gilgit city remained sealed after April 03 in the wake of deteriorating law and order situation after sectarian violence claimed 22 lives in different parts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The district administration said that the mosques could not be opened till the religious heads of the two sects guarantee peace.
Situation in Chilas and Skardu has also returned to normalcy and educational institutions are open but the people were suffering due to shortage of commodities, fuel and due to the lack of communication with relatives and family members residing in other areas.
