Rawalpindi police have launched a special anti-auto theft campaign aimed at controlling the vehicles theft cases under which free sandblasting facility to mark registration and chassis numbers on screens of vehicles is being provided to the citizens. The campaign has been launched on the special directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Azhar Hameed Khokhar. Under the campaign, Rescue 15 Liaquat Bagh is providing free sandblasting facility to the motorists to mark registration, engine and chassis numbers of the vehicle on the screens. Incharge Rescue 15 Inspector Kashif Riaz told APP that all the motorists can avail the facility free of cost which will help control the theft cases in the city. He said Police is running the anti-auto theft campaign aimed at controlling the vehicles theft cases. He informed that Rescue 15 also make aware the citizens for protecting their vehicles against theft. The motorists are advised to use clutch bar system for the security of vehicles which are available at Rescue 15 at Rs 1500 to 2000 rates. Besides, tracker system and anti-auto theft switch can also be installed in this regard, he said. “Installing a mechanical device that locks to the steering wheel is better for the protection of vehicles,” he said adding, “it is also better to install more alarm devices or locks to help delay a thief.” Other tips included parking of vehicles in public parking lots and never leaving valuables inside the vehicle. He said clutch bar system with American lock is quite popular and its demand is increasing day by day. Rescue 15 is also installing Chip card system in the vehicles which is very effective device for the security of the vehicle.
