he Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has nominated Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Musa Gilani, former health secretary Khushnood Akhtar Lashari, MNA Mian Abdul Satttar and acting secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control Zafar Abbas as accused in the Rs 7 billion ephedrine chemical quota scam. ANF’s Regional Director Brigadier Fahim Ahmed Khan on Thursday submitted an application along with additional documents with the Supreme Court, nominating eight new accused in the ephedrine chemical quota scam. In the application, Brigadier Fahim alleged that acting secretary narcotics was willfully committing conspiracy and had associated himself with the accused in the case.
He contended that the allocation of ephedrine quota was the violation of the UN Convention. The ANF has already initiated investigation against 10 people, including Dr Rashid Juma, Iftikhar Ahmed Babar, Rizwan Ahmed Khan, Ihsanur Rehman, Tanvirul Hassan Shirazi, Chaudhry Abdual Waheed, Ansir Farooq Chaudhry, Col (r) Tahir Alwadood Lahoti, Muhammad Hashim Khan and Taqueer Ali Khan. Regarding the role of Ministry of Narcotics Control, Brigadier Fahim said Zafar Abbas Lak took charge as the acting secretary of the Ministry of Narcotics with an ulterior motive to sabotage and mislead the investigation and distort the evidence and rescue Ali Musa Gilani, Tauqeer Ali Khan, Mian Abdul Sattar and Khushnood Lashari. He further said that Zafar Abbas had replied to accused Rizwan Ahmed in response to his application and on the direction of Islamabad High Court that “no direct evidence about misuse of quota by DANAS Pharma has been established/found per his inference”, basing on fake inquiry report. “While giving such a reply to an accused, the secretary totally and deliberately discarded the evidence against the accused already collected and placed on record before the trial court.” The brigadier said M/S Berlax and DANAS Pharma administration claimed to have manufactured 218 million and 85 million tablets, but there was no genuine document supporting the record held at all with the companies.
“The lower staff and other supplier of raw material do not support the stance of the companies,” the ANF regional director said.
The Supreme Court will hear the ephedrine chemical scam today (Friday).
GILANI WARNS: Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani warned ANF chief Brig Fahim Ahmad Khan against crossing his limits in the drug quota scandal case.
Addressing a ceremony of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Gilani said that Fahim should not forget that he was working under the civilian government, thus it was imperative for him to abide by the “civilian laws”. He also termed him a “borrowed officer”. “The ANF chief should also remember that the civilian government “borrowed” him from the armed services”, said the prime minister.
So now PM will ask his son to stay Back.
THIS CORRUPT FAMILY SHOULD BE HANGED TO GET RID FROM CORRUPITION..
But not more corrupt than Sharif and family, the founder of all corruption, whose relatives even indulged in drug smuggling.
Pakistan has a long tradition of this.
Pakistan doesnt deserves democracy.
Historically democracy always had it's assassins. In Pakistan's case, it may be that a wide swath of the country never came out of previous century's feudalism. Some people used religion and marshal mentality to incite public sentiment in wrong direction.
Still, saying Pakistan does not deserve democracy would mean Pakistanis' don't deserve democracy.
I can not agree…
Nothing less than hanging will do.
An islamic nation can never be democratic as stated by saudi arabia council. The whole world is against pakistan at the moment. Half of its population is illiterate, army too is in a very miserable condition, govt. has gone corrupt than ever, terrorists are managing more than 75% of the country and denigrading islam. Its the time for the civil society and educated non residential pakis to come up and save their country. Pakistan is on the verge of extintion with India, America and China all wanting to ruin Pakistan with their military power.
How could you miss the Judiciary sANAL?
According to wikileaks sensation, china has an evil eye on pakistan land. China wants to occupy pakistan and then use pakistani land against India, its closest rival in Asia. India, gaining support from all major countries like America, Russia, France, Britain, Europe, Canada, Brazil and Israel, is all set to demolish Pakistan before China can occupy it. That’s why china is increasing diplomatic relations with pakistan as India has already emerged as a global potential superpower and is the biggest threat to China.

The need of the hour is to improve relations with India at any cost because without India’s support, pakistan cannot get help from big countries as India is a member of un security council and is all set to become it permanent member.
The need of the hour is for us to wake up and work hard.
Hang these **** PPP, MQM & PML gangsters (Chaudary & Sharifs).
Then, only then, should we extend our hand to India, China and everyone else. We should harbour no animosity towards anyone, respect them all for their own individuality & wisdom & have faith in mankind.
And continue working hard… while holding faith in Allah.
the whole faily is guilty of crimes, where is laws, but law is blind and effective only for poors and not wealthy people?
We all are wasting our valueable time on corruption issues. The fact of the matter is that as a nation we are beyond repair, under the circumstances what do you expect from politicians.Politicians are like mafia, they can go to any extent to protect and safeguard their interests. They dont believe in rule of law, unfortunately courts are also playing in their hands.Do you require any witness to prove the plundered money of this nation.Their life style itself speaks everything.Let us forget and wait for divine intervention
@sanal, China will not do that, they will have support from Pakistan when ever they need it agains India. other part for sure India is trying to demolish Pakistan since its existance and has never been accepted it. With China as permament member, it will not be very easy to get permanent SC seat for India, plus it has to sort its human rights records in Kashmir and other parts of India.
Last 10 years with all sort of covert operations by India and allies behind the scenes couldnt demolish Pakistan, and its here to stay! Dialogues yes, domination no!
What does democracy means, learn from my state. I am Narendra Modi, chief minister of Gujrat, India. My state is clotted with deadly anti muslim riots in 2002. I took the oath that day to show the meaning of democracy to the world. Today my state is the most prosperous state in India with an yearly turnover more than even Pakistan. Muslims in my state today are happiest than muslim anywhere and im not saying this. Visit Gujrat and ask them directly. Gujrati muslim is the most prosperous muslim in Asia. Gujrat successfully organised VIBRANT GUJRAT with over 25 major countries participating and that has industrialised the whole Gujrat state of India. If i talk of gujrat alone, we are far far away from Pakistan in all respect. Visit my website http://www.narendramodi.in to know how can a barren land be transformed with a strong will power. Wrong use of religion had played a major role in demolition of Pakistan.
Thanks for your comment & yes, one should learn wherever the knowledge comes from. India has a lot of corruption but its been an excellent example of people standing up for their rights.
Let us pray Allah for sanity to prevail
I smell another cover up.
Pakistan is doomed
For the prime minister to belittle a high ranking army officer say a lot about the leadership of kiyani. We all know that the gillani/zardari families are corrupt to the core but we never knew that kiyani would turn out to be such a coward. If kiyani cannot/will not defend his own army officers, who happen to be doing their job, how can we expect him to defend the country. kiyani and other core commanders are to be blamed for the mess that our country is in. If they hadn't been blinded by the greed of extentions in their employments, things would be a lot different. If I ever become the prime miniter/president (no chance in near future though) I would dig kiyani out of his grave and hang him.
Excellent point. Musharraf was a million times better a dictator than these lot.
Aitzaz will defend Ali Musa Gilani and his defence will be that he was only helping ordinary Pakistanis get drugged so that they may forget the pain and misery that his father heaped on them.
@Kamran
Leadership of Kiyani??? He is Zardari in Uniform.
You are correct. Kiyani is ruining the structure and orginazation of the army. By accepting extensions, he is depriving so many other talented officers to advance their careers. There is a age limit on retirement and a lot of other two and three star generals who had worked hard all their life are forced to retire without any more promotions because there is no opening for for them in a higher position. If I was a talented, skilled and qualified two star general, I would hope that the army would use my knowledge and skills and promote me to a higher position. But if that position is does not become open because someone else get an extension, I may have to retire without a deserved promotion because I may reach my age limit before the position is open. How unfair. Just because one person gets extention, so many others are affected.
