Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has agreed to patronise the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). Khan on Monday said he would not accept any office in the party but would render moral support to Imran. He said Imran would have to come up with a comprehensive plan for the development and prosperity of Pakistan. “Taking two or three wickets on a single ball will no longer work,” said Khan. The scientist said all the political parties had destroyed Pakistan and the PTI was a ray of hope, adding that he would lend his support for the PTI if need arose. Last week, Imran called on Khan, who had been criticising him for his campaign against Nawaz Sharif, and requested him to patronise his party. The PTI chief had said he would address all the reservations of the national hero.

  2. AGREED TO BE A PATRON AND NOT PATRONISE

Dr A Q Khan has agreed to be a patron and not to patronise PAKISTAN TEHREEK -E- INSAF. The two words have opposing meanings.

To patronise someone means to be condescending towards that person; to treat a person with disdain but to be a patron means to act as a moral guide and that is what Dr A Q khan has agreed to do.
