Pakistan on Saturday formally announced the appointment of Salman Bashir as its new High Commissioner to India. Foreign Office Spokesman Moazzam Ahmed Khan giving the details said the government has announced the appointment of formerly Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir as its new High Commissioner to India. Salman Bashir has been appointed Pakistan’s new High Commission to New Delhi in place of Shahid Malik. Salman Bashir served as the Foreign Secretary from 2008 to March 2012. He also served as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Denmark, Lithuania, China and Mongolia. Bashir also served at Pakistan’s Mission to the United Nations in Geneva as well as at the OIC in Jeddah. He also held important positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs including Director General UN and Additional Secretary for Asia Pacific.
