Majlis Wahdat Al-Muslimeen (MWM) ended eight-day long sit-in in Islamabad after dialogue with Interior Minister Rehman Malik late Friday night.
Malik assured that MWM protesting leaders that a judicial commission would be constituted to investigate Chilas and Gilgit secretarian killings.
Dialogue between Rehman Malik and the Ulema of the Majlis lasted for four hours. Malik agreed to meet all demands and assured strict action against assailants involved in Chilas mayhem.
Later, the leaders of the Majlis announced ending of the sit-in, but warned of restaging sit-in after two weeks if the government failed to implement their demands.
Malik announced formation of judicial commission for investigation into both atrocities, directing it to submit report within one month.
