ATC convicts 6 accused in Arshad kidnapping case

An Anti Terrorism Court on Friday awarded death sentences on two counts to six accused involved in Dr Arshad’s kidnapping case.
Dr Muhammad Arshad, owner of High-Tech Feed, had been kidnapped at gunpoint along with his BMW-car and driver from Township area here on July 8.
The businessman was released by the kidnappers after they got Rs 50 million as ransom. Later, Shadman police had registered a case and arrested Shahid and others on the charge of kidnapping Dr Arshad besides recovering ransom money.
On Friday, ATC Judge, Muhammad Azam, after hearing the arguments convicted the accused including Shahid, Nazeer, Bilal and others and awarded death sentences to them on two counts.
The court also fined them Rs 150,000 each and ordered to confiscate their properties.
