Media can play role in improving Pak-India relations: Firdous

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Friday calling upon Pak-India media to help improve bilateral relations, said their positive role can play a much needed role in bringing the people of two countries closer to each other.
“They should work for removing misperceptions, creating better atmosphere and help mitigate the bitter feelings across the border.” she said While talking to an Indian media delegation which met her here, she said that all issues including core issue of Kashmir between the two countries could be resolved through peaceful means of dialogue.
The minister said that both the countries should focus their energies for the welfare of the people.
She said that Pakistan’s defence is in safe hands and it is fully capable of defending its borders. The minister said that the Parliament is supreme and sovereign in Pakistan and the government took all democratic forces along for the welfare of the people and stability of the country. The democratic government brought all institutions at one page in pursuance of national interests, she added.
