Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday reiterated his demand for early elections, saying “as long as the incumbent government rules, problems will increase day by day in the country”.
Speaking to media on the occasion of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Anwar Baig’s inclusion in the PML-N, Nawaz said the nation was not ready to tolerate the government anymore. “The government should better announce the elections,” he said. “Scandals of corruption have been emerging on daily basis,” he said, adding that a record increase in corruption was being witnessed.
Answering a question on memogate, he said that he had not backed off from the case, as he was the one who had moved the Supreme Court. On Mehran Bank scandal, Sharif said that he had sent a legal notice to Younis Habib for accusing him.
The PML-N chief said that he had apprised US Ambassador Cameron Munter of his reservations regarding US drone attacks on Pakistani soil. “We standby our view point on NATO supplies,” Nawaz added. To another question, he said that imposition of curfews in Gilgit was not a lasting solution to the law and order situation in the area.
Nawaz said that the recent statements of President Asif Ali Zardari had proved that the PML-N was not a friendly opposition.
Earlier, PPP leader Anwar Baig announced to join the PML-N. Speaking to the media along with Nawaz, Baig said the county was passing through a crucial time and the PML-N was the only party that could steer Pakistan out of all the crises. Nawaz appointed Baig to the Central Executive Council (CEC) of the PML-N.
I am desperate to believe that if the incumbent government is replaced by a Nawaz
League government ,things will change for the better . Its past record is not reassuring in the least . From their actual conduct —which consists mostly of mud-
slinging on Musharraf and zardari—- the claim of Nawaz League that they have learnt lessons from their past mistakes sounds to be hollow . Please do something
which kindles hope in people sunk in despair .

noora please………..we have seen ur two governments in the past and when it comes to economic policy, u were no different than benazir, zardari, mushy, ie u also begged from the IMF just like the three, instead of making reforms in the country…….

It is so sad that nawaz has to depend on zardari's statements to prove that pml(n) is not a friendly opposition. He knew that his own claim did not have any credibility so he had to depend on zardari to prove that he really was not friendly opposition.
