RCB to organise cultural show at Race Course Park

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) will organise a cultural show at race course ground in the mid of this month. Rawalpindi Cantonment Executive Officer Rana Manzoor Ahmed said this while talking to APP. He said the cultural show would be made a big attraction for the visitors and they would be provided healthy entertainment during the cultural show.
Rana Manzoor said RCB has organized a spring flower show, birds show and book fair at Race Course Park for eight days (April 5 to 12). Flowers have always mesmerized people for their beauty and color and now the arrangement of thousands of colourful spring flowers are casting their spell on the people visiting Race Course Ground here at Peshawar Road under annual spring flower show 2012. The show has been arranged to provide a platform for different organizations to show their expertise in the field of horticulture and provide healthy entertainment to the residents of Cantonment areas. He said the show is also aimed to promote positive aspects of floriculture in our daily life and provide a forum to hobby gardeners for sharing their ideas and exchanging information with professionals. A prize distribution ceremony in this connection was also held at the race course park. The prizes were divided into different categories including, house lawns, bungalow lawns, office lawns, large size, medium size and small gardens. In extra large garden category prizes were also distributed.
People belonging to different walks of life are visiting the park to watch different varieties of flowers put on display by different organisations.
The organisations that are participating in the flower show included CMH, MH, AFIC, AFIP, RCB, CCB, Garrison Mess, Signal Mess, SPD, CMT, Ayub Park, Jinnah Park and others. They displayed plants at their stalls, which included Petunia, Pensy, Mesembry, Marigold, Carinationa, Statice, Phlyx and Allysum.
96 lawbreakers including over 20 gamblers arrested: Rawalpindi Police claimed to have arrested 96 lawbreakers including over 20 gamblers, and 35 accused who were found involved in immoral activities.
Rawalpindi police busted three brothels in different operations and held 35 male and female who were found indulged in immoral activities.
Police in crackdowns against criminals also recovered drugs, liquor, illegal weapons and stake money amounting to Rs 101,435 with 23 mobile phones. According to Police spokesman, Police seized 310 grams charas, 259 bottles of liquor, 11 pistols 30 bor with 34 rounds from the lawbreakers. Westridge police conducted a raid at a brothel at Adam Street and apprehended 12 men and women who were accused of being busy in immoral activities. The arrested accused were identified as Ziatoon Bibi, Shazia, Abida, Sadia, Amna,Shazia, Safia, Saima, Rashida, Usman, Shahid Iqbal, Hassan and Hazrat Wali. Airport police raided another brothel house at Wakeel Colony and apprehended 15 men and women identified as Mir Waiz, Ameen, Salman, Raheel, Awal Khan, Akhter, Ezal, Hameed, Aziz, Tabassum, Musharraf, Atta, Shafique, Muskan and Laiba.
