The government Friday decided to end CNG load shedding which is currently being conducted for three days a week. According to Minister for Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain, the decision was made to provide gas to CNG stations for a week; however, a quota would be set in this regard.
“It depends on owners of CNG stations to either use this quota within a week or a day,” he said. He made it clear that the CNG stations would have to pay additional tariff in case of additional usage of gas. “Provinces should also play their role for cut in price of petroleum products,” he suggested. He said the quota system would also improve pressure of gas. “Other sources will also be used. I will request the chief ministers in the energy conference to give subsidy on petroleum products,” Asim said.
