PCNS makes headway in removing reservations: Rabbani

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) Mian Raza Rabbani has said that there has been progress in removing reservations of various political parties on the recommendations of the committee.
Talking to reporters after the committee meeting on Thursday, Raza Rabbani said the PML-N had ended its boycott and become part of the committee again. He said all the amended recommendations would be gotten approved from parliament jointly.
The PCNS chairman said the committee was working keeping in mind the national interest of the country, adding foreign pressure would not be taken. He said another meeting of the committee would be held after Friday prayers (today).
Sardar Mehtab Abbasi of the PML-N said the party had boycotted the PCNS meeting to protest against the increase in POL prices.
The government has made insignificant decrease in the prices and promised to further consider their reduction.
He said the PML-N had also expressed its reservations in advance and demanded that it should be informed about progress on the resolutions passed earlier. Abbasi said the US was continuing its pressure but resumption of NATO supplies was not an easy matter.
JUI-F’s Maulana Fazlur Rehman said he was committed to its stance and would decide a course of action when recommendations of the committee would be presented in the parliament.
Those who attended the meeting included Munir Orakzai, Afrasiab Khattak, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao.
