The judicial commission probing into the memo case resumed the hearing after getting another six weeks extension from the Supreme Court (SC) Thursday, a private TV channel reported.
The commission comprises of Chief Justice Balochistan High Court, Justice Qazi Faez Issa, Chief Justice Sindh High Court, Justice Musheer Alam and Chief Justice Islamabad High Court, Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman.
Former DG ISI Shuja Pasha, Husain Haqqani’s counsel Zahid Bukhari, Mansoor Ijaz’s lawyer Akram Sheikh and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik are present at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to attend the proceedings.
Pasha is attending the proceedings of the commission for the first time. While recording his statement, Pasha testified his meeting with Mansoor Ijaz. “The meeting continued for four hours,” Pasha said.
Earlier, Akram Sheikh, the counsel of Mansoor Ijaz questioned Yasin Malik regarding his nationality and passport, which was objected by the commission.
Former ambassador of Pakistan to US Husain Haqqani cited a heart problem as the reason for his absence from proceedings.
Haqqani, through his application, told the commission that he has been a heart patient for the last three years and has been under treatment at the Advanced Cardiology Center, Maryland, US. The applicant is currently under treatment for chest pain/coronary artery disease.
