PML-N to oppose point against country’s sovereignty: Nisar

Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Kahn said on Friday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was not hurdling in foreign policy rather it was against those forces that were making fun of the sovereignty and freedom of the country.
Addressing a press conference at Punjab House, he said that they would oppose all those points, which were against the country’s sovereignty.
He said that no country gave its soil to any other nation in the world to set up bases but it had happened in Pakistan. He added that other countries used their own laws if the soil was given to them.
He said the PML-N supported the resolution of Parliamentary Committee for National Security (PCNS), however, it had reservations over a few points in the foreign policy.
He said further that he would stand firm on PML-N stance on the reservations on three points in the foreign policy. The points include foreign intelligence agencies would not allow any operation in country, no air base would be granted to any country without approval of the Parliament and all the contractors of foreign security agencies should not be allowed to operate in Pakistan.
He warned the government if all the three points on which PML-N had reservations would not be excluded from the foreign policy, PML-N would not support the resolution.
PML-N would also make its tireless efforts to include points in the resolution regarding the solution of Kashmir issue and release of Afia Siddiqui, he added.
He said he was fighting war for Pakistan not for PML-N and would continue to put hurdles in the way of everything, which would be against Pakistan.
While criticising Pervaiz Musharraf, he said that former army dictator sold the land of the country to foreigners and now the country was filled with foreign intelligence agencies.
He said that this time opposition would not merely rely on oral assurances from the government side rather it would follow practical steps on this issue.
The opposition was not making any hidden alliance with the government, however, whatever steps the opposition takes in this regard, it would be in the best interest of the country, he added.
