The 3rd Atlas Honda national Ranking Tennis Championship will be held from April 9 at K-21 Club Mode Town Sports Club. Atlas Honda is the main sponsor where as Hi-Tech Lubricants Ltd will join as co-sponsor besides other sponsors in mini category. Players from across the country will compete in the event and improve their national ranking. Participation is expected in men’s singles, men’s doubles, ladies singles, boys singles u-18 years, boys singles u-15 years, boys singles u-12 years, school/college team event u-18 years, veteran doubles over 60 years categories. It is for the first time that school and college tennis has been included in any event and all this has happened in result of great efforts of the Club President and advisor PTF Rao Akbar Latif. “Schools and colleges are the prime base of promoting the game,” he said. Outstation players will be accommodated as per PTF rules where as cash prizes and trophies/souvenirs will be awarded to position holder players. Registration process is on its way and players can enter their names at the main Office of the K-21 Club before or on April 7. Hamid Niaz, former national ITF coordinator and member Development Committee PTF has been appointed as Tournament Director whereas Fahim Asif Jaswal and Zulifqar Ali will act as tournament manger and tournament coordinator respectively.
