A 35-year-old eunuch was slaughtered to death by some unidentified persons at his house and later the room was set ablaze to mislead the investigators in the Shalimar police limits on Monday.
The deceased person was identified as Shahid, resident of Ghoray Shah. He had taken a residential quarter near Gandi Bambian Stop in the Shalimar area on rent and was living there for the last many months. On the day of incident, his friends visited his flat and found him in a pool of blood while his clothes had caught fire in the other room. They informed the police and Rescue 1122 who reached the scene and removed the body to morgue. Sub-inspector Khadim Hussain said some unidentified suspects had first slit opened his throat with a sharp edged weapon and had later set his clothes ablaze to turn the incident into an accident. He added that the circumstantial evidence suggest that the killer(s) were some of his associates. Police have collected forensic evidence and had started investigation. Meanwhile, a large number of eunuchs gathered at the crime scene and staged a protest. They demanded immediate arrest of killers for justice. A case has been registered against unidentified suspects.
SHOT INJURED: Muhafiz Squad personnel shot injured a man for not stopping his bike at their indication in Sanda Police area on Monday. According to sources at Sanda Police Station, Tariq Ali was going on his bike LEM 9394 at Bund Road. Policemen indicated him to stop but he could not stop near them for being speedy, they said. They added that personnel of Muhafiz Squad including Amjad and Ali Akbar started fire at him which hit him at the back. Police personnel lift him and took him to a nearby clinic for his treatment but seeing him serious injured doctors denied giving him medical treatment and asked them to take him to some government hospital.
The police personnel took him to the police station and registered an FIR against him by accusing him of having 500 gram hashish and firing at police personnel. They also accused in the FIR that one of his accomplice opened fire at them and succeeded in fleering from the scene.
