Camp for Olympic football qualifiers begin

Lahore – As many as 31 players reported in the national camp that commenced on Monday in the build up for the 2012 Olympic football Asian qualifying tournament. The camp will run until February 4, 2011, at the Model Town Football Academy. Players born on or after 1 January 1989 are eligible to play. However, three players have been exemption from age limit. The 15 players are expected to join the camp on Tuesday morning.
The Pakistan Football Federation has approved 46 players for team that will appear in the 2012 Olympic football Asian qualifying tournament. Tariq Lutfi is supervising the camp, assisted by Gohar Zaman, one of the hat-trick makers for Pakistan in international circuit. Pakistan will face Malaysia in the first leg to be played in Kuala Lumpur on Feb 23 and the return leg in Pakistan on March 9.
