The 48-year-old actress is known to portray both comic characters and serious roles remarkably. She recently talked about her latest film, which is based on the 9/11 attacks, her son and more. When asked if she prefers romantic comedies or dramas, she said: “Humour is important so I definitely relate to rom-coms. As an actor, dramas are performance-oriented and most of all helps get you the Oscars.” Talking about her new September 11-based film, in which she plays a mother, she said: “I play mothers often but the mom I am in my upcoming film is not nurturing or seemingly nurturing. I don’t know how my life applies to it, so that was hard.” On her experience of working with Tom Hanks, she said: “Everything you hear is true, all the good stuff. But what I was most in awe of was the scene where I get a phone call from Thomas Schell, played by Tom Hanks. The scene doesn’t have any camera time for him, but he sat in the room, adjusting his performance. That’s why he’s the actor he is; he knows that by being in that room he helped my performance.” Bullock will next be seen in ‘Gravity’, a sci-fi thriller where she stars opposite George Clooney, slated for release in November.
