Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said on Wednesday that Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status would be granted to India by December 2012.
Speaking to journalists, she said when trade relations would normalise with India by December 2013, MFN status would be granted like 180 other countries. “We steadfastly followed the course of action approved by the cabinet” Khar said.
When asked about cricket diplomacy and if the Foreign Office (FO) was playing any part in restoring cricketing ties between India and Pakistan, Khar replied that the FO was interfering in this matter as the PCB felt they were not getting the appropriate response.
gud step
MFN status is accorded automatically to ALL members of WTO. Pakistan and India created exception and now getting normal. What the fuss?
Currently there are 153 members of the WTO who enjoy MFN status amongst themselves
I Agreed this policy.
and we are already facing more than 16 Billion US Dollar trade deficit due to our limited exports, and once import of more than 6,000 items will be allowed from India, we will surely reach 25 Billion Dollar annual trade deficit…that’s the STRONGEST floss of this polic
*policy
first check out the updates please, then discuss on MFN, India is clearly announced, they are not considering any change in their trade barriers with Pakistan..
