Reacting to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s statement in which he claimed the Supreme Court judges treated him (PM) like a peon, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said an honest peon was better than a law-breaking prime minister or chief minister.
Talking to reporters, Shahbaz said he would advise Gilani to stop siding with “Ali Baba and forty thieves”.
“Gilani says he is a PM not a peon, but I would like to tell him that a peon who earns his bread and butter with honesty is better than you and me,” he said.
Addressing a public meeting at Shahkot, the chief minister said he would not be deterred by threats or abuses and would continue to strive for the return of billions of dollars from foreign bank accounts of President Asif Ali Zardari.
The chief minister said Zardari spoke the truth when he said in parliament that he had rewritten history, however, he rewrote the history with record corruption, worst kind of price-hike and unprecedented load shedding.
He said that there was no institution that had not been looted and pillaged.
Shahbaz said he had asked the prime minister not to shield Zardari, but he paid no heed to his advice. He said that there was still time for Gilani to withdraw his support for thieves and siding with the truth.
Shahbaz said the implementation of SC orders was the constitutional obligation of every Pakistani.
Later, the chief minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various projects worth billions of rupees, including the new building of Government Degree College, new Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, a public park, modern sewerage system and an institute for special children.

  1. These two brother are to be blamed for the present situation in Pakistan. Had they not supported this govt. it would have fallen long ago. The sharif (harami) brothers were hoping it would be their turn next time but zardari out smarted them and now they realize that they don't stand a chance to be in power in the fed govt. so they are making all this noise. They have lost any political clout they had four years ago and they are just fading away in history. Loosers.
