Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister for Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said the employees of Health Department are struggling to eradicate diseases so it is necessary for them to keep themselves healthy and for this purpose they should take part in sports regularly and should participate in the next Punjab Supports Festival.
He was addressing the first annual supports day function of the Post Graduate Medical Institute. PGMI Principal Prof Tariq Salah-ud-Din LGH MS Dr Muhammad Hassan, Prof Abubakar Siddique, faculty members, doctors, nurses and other employees were also present on this occasion.
“Crowded play grounds means empty hospitals,” Rafique said, adding that it was a good omen that the PGMI had held a sports day after 53 years of coming into existence. He was of the view that such healthy activities should be a regular feature. He said the progress of the nation depended upon quality education, moral grooming and good health and the country having healthy and trained manpower would be on the victory stand in the race of progress and prosperity. He hoped that the doctors and paramedical staff would maintain the same spirit when it came to eliminate diseases especially dengue.
Rafique stated that Punjab government, from day one, had been trying to provide the best possible health facilities to the masses and the dream of the chief minister would only come true if the doctors and paramedical staff support the government’s actions.
Rafique distributed shields and certificate among the position holders in sports activity and lauded their performance.
