Millions of books up for grabs

Provincial Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan, on Thursday, inaugurated Pakistan’s largest 3-day book fair which was organised by the varsity administration at the Institute of Education and Research (IER), New Campus on Thursday. Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran and various heads of departments, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. The book fair will continue till March 17 from 9am to 7pm.
A book fair organized by Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) began on March 15 where a variety of books on the topics of medical, general knowledge, religion, politics and fine arts were displayed.
The Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Dr Javed Ikram inaugurated the book fair which was attended by teachers and professors.
Addressing the participants Prof Tariq Salah ud Din said with the common use of computers, cell phones and other gadgets, people had forgotten their love for books. He said that the PGMI library remains open from 8.00 am to 12.00 at night and students can fulfil their thirst for knowledge during these hours.
