Speaker National Assembly, Fahmida Mirza, Thursday said that the officers who do not respect the Parliament have no right to continue on their portfolios and will be sacked.
The speaker made the remark after the house was informed that the CDA chairman was asked to brief the parliamentarians about the development projects in Islamabad.
“I had called the CDA chairman for a briefing but he refused to do so and I am feeling shame before the House”, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah told the NA.
He said that the speaker should take action against the Secretaries and other officers for not getting the parliament serious.
Hanif Abbasi, PML-N MNA, said that it is very disgraceful moment if the chairman CDA refused to appear before the Legislators of the House.
Khursheed Shah requested the Speaker to take actions against the concerned officers. Upon which the Speaker handed over the matter to the privilege committee and directed to submit report on Friday.
The Federal Minister told the National Assembly that 1.48 billion rupees had been used for the construction of roads, streets and infrastructure in Islamabad last year.
During the current fiscal year 15 hundred million rupees allocated for the same purpose but not a single penny has been invested so far.
