The residents of Sangla Hill are concerned over changing the names of Hameed Nizami Memorial Polytechnic Institute to Government College of Sangla Hill and Government Hameed Nizami Memorial Institute and Computer Centre to Government Vocational Institute. The residents of the area, while urging the Punjab government to reverse the decision reminded the latter that both institutions were founded and named by former prime minister and PML-N Chief Mian Muhamad Nawaz Sharif to pay tribute to the legendary journalist Hameed Nizami. “The real problem is that facilities are not being provided for the colleges,” they said, adding that the students were also facing transportation problems. According to locals, TEVTA and the government of Punjab should consider the problems of the students so that they can get the education they truly deserve.
