Thomas De Maiziere, German minister of defence, on Tuesday held separate meetings with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Khalid Shameem Wynne and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani and discussed bilateral cooperation in defence. The defence minister also praised the sacrifices rendered by the people and the armed forces of Pakistan in the fight against terror. Earlier, General Bertrand Ract-Madoux, chief of staff French army also called on General Wynne. The visiting military dignitary remained with the chairman for some time and discussed matters related to mutual cooperation between the two armed forces.
General Ract-Madoux also called on General Kayani at General Headquarters. The visiting dignitary who is on an official visit to Pakistan, remained with the COAS for some time and discussed the matters of professional interest. Earlier on arrival at General Headquarters, a guard of honour was presented to the visiting dignitary by a smartly turned out contingent at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
