While taking notice over the display of ministers’ name plates on vehicles instead of registration number plates, the Balochistan High Court on Tuesday observed that if legislators flouted the law, they would be denuded of moral authority to insist that general public abided by the same.
A divisional bench of Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Abdul Qadir Mengal also directed the capital city police officer (CCPO) and superintendent traffic police about the action taken against the vehicles bearing the name plates of ministers.
The court made the observations while hearing a petition filed by Talat Waheed Khan advocate.
The learned bench also directed the CCPO Quetta and SP traffic to pay periodic visits to Civil Secretariat and the Balochistan Assembly to ensure that the Motor Vehicles Ordinance and the orders of the court were not being violated.
In another petition, the BHC CJ expressed dissatisfaction over a report submitted by National Highway Authority about removal of encroachment on main Airport Road and sought explanation from the concerned officials of the authority.
The court observed that the photographs attached with the report showed that flagstones placed at the periphery of the road were being removed and the troughs placed around trees and bushes had been demolished.
The court directed the deputy director (maintenance) NHA to appear on the next hearing with an explanation.
The court also appointed Kamran Mullakhail as the commissioner for reviewing the encroachments of permanent nature on both sides of the Airport Road and directed him to submit a detailed report and recommendations for improving the situation.
These ministers have a very low self esteem thats why they feel like they have to announce to everbody who they are. If they were confident in their own personalities, they would let their work do all the talking instead they feel like they have to display their names to announce who they are. On the other hand, it would make them easier targets for practice shooting :)))
